Technology from Uniroyal

Self Supporting Runflat (SSR)
Self Supporting Runflat (SSR)

The Runflat tire, known as the SSR tire at Uniroyal (self-supporting-runflat), is equipped with a reinforced sidewall that prevents the sidewall from being crushed between the rim and the road in case of a puncture, and therefore the escape. That's why even in case of a breakdown, you can travel up to 80 kilometers at a maximum speed of 80 km/h to have time to get to the nearest garage.

Shark Skin Technology (SST)
Shark Skin Technology (SST)

For maximum safety in aquaplaning situations, trust in Shark Skin technology. Inspired by the extraordinary texture of shark skin, we have replicated Mother Nature's ingenuity in our RainSport 3 and RainExpert 3 tires.
As you may have noticed, sharks appear to have smooth and slippery skin, but it is actually covered with tiny scales similar to an interlacing of miniature teeth. Not only serving to protect the animal, they also serve to bristle to help its body propel through the water more efficiently, faster and with less resistance.
Imitating nature, we have equipped our RainSport 3 and RainExpert 3 tires with this Shark Skin Technology (SST) inspired by these interlaced scales. Bionics has allowed us to equip our tread patterns with a reproduction of a shark skin effect that helps to quickly drain water from underneath the tire.
