Falken WILDPEAK R/T01 Tyre
The Falken WILDPEAK R/T01 is a newly introduced tyre designed for challenging terrains, expanding the 4x4 tyre range. Engineered for adventure and tough applications, its tread design and structure aim to deliver optimal performance on difficult surfaces.
Available from the first quarter of 2024, the WILDPEAK R/T01 will be offered in nine sizes, ranging from 16 to 20 inches, with a 'Q' speed rating. As a professional off-road tyre (POR), it does not carry an EU tyre label designation. The tread combines features from Falken's All-Terrain (A/T) and Mud-Terrain (M/T) models, providing a balance of traction, durability, and longevity for all-wheel drive vehicles in extreme conditions. This makes it suitable for sectors like construction, forestry, agriculture, and expeditions, as well as for off-road enthusiasts.
The WILDPEAK R/T01 features a hybrid off-road tread pattern with a large contact area and stiff tread blocks, ensuring reliability, on-road performance, and off-road toughness. Its open shoulder tread design enhances its ability to handle muddy and rocky terrains, with excellent self-cleaning properties for superior grip and traction. The three-layer sidewall offers cut resistance and additional protection for maximum grip.
According to Andreas Giese, Chief Corporate Officer at Falken Tyres Europe GmbH, the WILDPEAK R/T01 is designed to tackle the most challenging conditions, allowing vehicles to traverse any surface. This model complements Falken's existing range, which includes the A/T3WA and M/T series.
Since the launch of the WILDPEAK M/T in 2018, Falken has expanded its range of tyres for off-road vehicles, offering features to conquer tough terrains. The WILDPEAK range is also an original equipment fit for manufacturers like Mercedes Benz and RAM. The WILDPEAK M/T, in size 245/75 R 16, demonstrated its capabilities during the 2022 Classic Dakar Rally in Saudi Arabia, completing 7,500km without punctures.

So far, I have done 400km. I had mounted Wrangler AT compared to the Falken, they are not worth much. The Falken are noisier as they have an RT tread but are much better in the rain than the Wrangler, also better in mud and stone without comparison. I had an increase of 1L in consumption but nothing major.
